The man behind the whole scene is Martin Cooper-the inventor of the mobile phone. He invented the mobile phone rather a portable handset in 1973 while serving as a project manager in Motorola. The mobile phones first appeared in the markets in 1990s. Initially this handset’s service was limited; one could only make calls or receive calls. In the year 1991, very soon, the 2G (second generation) mobile phones were introduced into the market. With these mobiles was introduced the data service of the mobile phones which actually makes the mobile advertising possible today.
It is a good piece of information that the first SMS (short message service) or text message was sent in Finland in December 1994. Since then SMS has become the most commonly used mode of communication. The users of the mobile phones can send and receive messages privately even in public. The best part is no one around us may know about out conversation with someone else. Six years after the launch of SMS, the mobile advertising made its debut and still grows strong in the marketing scenario of the world.
